On The Record

I'm an independent investigative journalist and podcaster dedicated to exposing wrongful convictions, reopening cold cases, and holding the criminal justice system accountable. As founder of Murder Creek Media, I've led investigations that have contributed to post-conviction appeals, surfaced new evidence in unsolved homicides, and brought renewed public scrutiny to cases long presumed closed.

I'm the creator and host of Skeptical: An Investigative Podcast, a deep-dive investigative series that explores one Alabama man's claim of wrongful conviction in a 1994 homicide. I also co-host Make It Make Sense, Alabama, a podcast driving conversations on accountability, justice, and transparency through candid interviews with changemakers, policymakers, nonprofit leaders, and other influential voices shaping the state's future. I'm currently developing Murder in Mobile County, an upcoming investigative series examining the unsolved 1981 murder of Brenda Peters in Mobile, Alabama.

My work is driven by a commitment to truth, transparency, and justice for the wrongfully accused and the victims whose cases have gone cold. In 2025, this work earned me national recognition through the Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media, with an Honorable Mention for National Investigative Audio Podcast for my work on Skeptical, a distinction rarely awarded to independent media creators.

As founder, I oversee full operations for Murder Creek Media, leading a remote volunteer team of more than 25 people. Each week, our team comes together to discuss active cases and conduct research, working collectively to bring justice to those whose voices have been silenced or forgotten. We've also partnered with several law enforcement agencies throughout the state, helping bring renewed attention and a second set of eyes to cold cases.

I'm a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and Omega Nu Lambda. Beyond investigative reporting, I volunteer with nonprofit organizations supporting children with special needs, and was awarded the "Spirit of SHOW" award for my disability advocacy work in my local community. I remain committed to using digital storytelling as a tool for accountability and justice.
